There have been a few times in the past when I've received a call from a family member or friend asking if I'd forgotten their birthday. Oh the shame of it! I do try to keep all such important dates in my calendar, but I don't check the calendar daily. That's why I needed Reminder Pro. In addition to the very simple yet attractive interface, it does a fabulous job of reminding me of many different types of events all in one neat package. There is the standard birth date and anniversary which the app can pull from Existing Contacts, or a new friend may be directly added as a New Contact. Additionally, the best part is you can create your own event called a Standalone Event. In this category, I put a LOT of stuff such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, major holidays, as well as important school and sports events. You are offered a list of pre-made icons to use for these special dates that you are creating. The wonderful part of your special event is that under that contact's name is their picture, and three buttons with choices to either call, text or e-mail them with one tap. There is also an extremely helpful badge on the launch icon to trigger your memory to upcoming events so you don't have to be placed in an embarrassing "Sorry, I forgot" situation again. The badge can be set to show dates anywhere from 1 day to 3 months. Now that's being prepared! Reminder Pro is definitely worth having on your, phone and your loved ones will be amazed at your thoughtfulness in remembering them!

"Reminder Pro is the ultimate Birthday/Anniversary/Event Reminder available. It includes all of the following great features: beautiful interface with great graphics, works with your existing contacts, shows birthdays and anniversaries, edit or create your contacts directly, assign photos from camera or album, create custom events for holidays, assign icons to custom events, send e-mails and text messages, call contacts directly, sort by name, event or date, and filter to show only the events you need."

--Tech Jargon: smart home - In general a "smart home" refers to a house, apartment, or neighborhood that is equipped with some combination of a broadband connection, fiber-optic cables, and a wireless network. The network can ferry data and video signals around a home through phone and power lines and over radio frequencies, allowing the owner to check on it via the Internet (even from work or while out of town). Everything from the oven to the air conditioner to the security alarm can be controlled with a universal remote control device and a TV screen or PC monitor display. Using a menu on the display, the owner can set the room temperature or use a remote camera to see who is at the front door.
