Holidays are soon upon us. Some kids are counting down till Halloween, others till Christmas, while parents are anxiously counting down to making their big Thanksgiving meal. With Countdown, you can track the time down to the last second. Some of the great features of Countdown are as follows: remote notifications, live updates, large icons, e-mail a countdown to someone, event categories, optional event auto sorting, discrete event unit selection, support for repeating events, use of images from your photo album and system setting panel to choose unit display. I particularly like using my own photo from my album for certain events, and being able to e-mail the countdown to family members or friends for planned events. The repeating function is excellent, and saves a lot of time in noting those events that happen on a daily or weekly basis. Being able to use any date from January 1, 0001 to December 31, 4000 is absolutely amazing. The sleek, attractive interface is sure to please you, and does not distract from the ease of using this helpful app. Countdown is a utility that everyone should have on their screen display as a motivator, reminder and planning tool.

"Countdown tracks the dates that matter to you. Want to know how long until football season? Or how many days until school ends? Track the minutes until the next huge Apple release. Go for it. Countdown!"

--OS and Age Rating:  This app requires OS 3.0 or later. Rated 4+.
--Tip: There is a full screen background in Event Detail view. Countdown does not integrate with Calendar.

Fun Stuff - Word of The Day:
IRC - A live chat area of the Internet in which real-time conversations take place via IRC software, ASCII commands, and channels. Each channel begins with a # and is dedicated to a different area of interest. IRC is considered one of the technologies of the Internet, along with FTP, Telnet, Gopher, and the Web. Because IRC requires special software and knowledge of technical commands, and because of its text-only environment, many people prefer to chat in GUI-friendly chat rooms found on the World Wide Web.
