There are certainly plenty of good news apps on the App Store. After all, the news holds a great deal of appeal for the population. Everyone wants to be in the know of what's going on politically, in their neighborhood, in society and all other areas of life. NewsAlert is truly an innovative app in that it allows you to pick keywords of what you want to hear about, rather than wading through all the news on various sites. In this respect, it reminds me of my Google Alerts where I have picked out several keywords on which I receive news when those issues are affected. To use NewsAlert, simply enter keywords and you will be immediately notified when they are listed in the news, even if NewsAlert is not presently running. Some of the great benefits to using NewsAlert are that you may:
- Share interesting articles with friends via e-mail or Twitter
- Enjoy a clear and intuitive user interface with landscape mode reading
- Add your friends, family, favorite actors or singers as keywords
- Adjust notification settings for when to be notified
Now you can actually sit back and not worry about missing out on news that is important to you. With NewsAlert, you will be kept up-to-date on the news that really counts!

"News Alert is an innovative and advanced news app that lets you read breaking news about subjects you want to hear."

--OS and Age Rating:  This app requires OS 3.1 or later. Rated 4+.
--Tip/Tutorials: NewsAlert comes with a maximum of 20 keywords. If you want more, purchase a pack of 5 or 15 additional keywords. Also this price reflects a 30% price reduction until the end of January.

Fun Stuff - Word of The Day:
caching proxy - A repository of Web pages used to speed the delivery of those pages to users. Many ISPs maintain "proxy servers" that store millions of pages copied from the Web. When a user requests a page stored on a proxy, the ISP delivers the page quickly from the proxy rather than using the Web server to retrieve the page from the Net (which can take much longer).
