Rock Band Free

COST: Free
CATEGORIES: Entertainment, Games, Music, Native
..RELEASED: 1/21/10, VERSION:1.2.7 -- RATING: 3-1/2 Stars..

Everybody loves music. When we were young, we all played 'Simon', the game of tapping out the correct beat on different colored buttons to match the electronic sounds made. Rock Band Free seems like the grown-up version to me because it is a music and rhythm game that makes you really use your listening skills to find and repeat the correct beat for each instrument option. In this free version, you get one track, "Learn To Fly", to practice with in which you play along with the instruments as defined in the song. When you open this iPhone music app, you get the choice of Quick Play or Full Game. (Full Game means you would upgrade to the paid app with several more song choices.) Then you select your Musician - do you want to play Bass, Guitar, Drums or Vocals? Well I got booed offstage when playing on Guitar and Vocals, and the fan meter hit red, that's how bad I was initially! The good news is I'm getting better and loving the game and the music a lot. The Options setting include Music, SFX, Overdrive and Vibration toggles. It's a lot of fun using your thumbs to get the right sounds for each instrument. If you love music and a skillful, rhythm game, you will enjoy playing Rock Band Free , and maybe even upgrade to get more songs.

"Find out what's got the critics raving in this free version of the stellar band music game. Play along to the classic track 'Learn To Fly' from the Foo Fighters. Rock out on guitar, bass, drums or vocals.."

Fun Stuff - Word of The Day:
paid search - Paid search is when online advertisers bid on search engine or search directory queries and pay a fee whenever someone clicks on their online ad. In essence, the highest bidder on a particular keyword has its ad show up first on the list. For example, go to Google.com and search for "fishing supplies." The "sponsored links" in the right hand column (such as "basspro.com") are paid search ads.
