Being able to listen to thousands of radio stations over your iPhone or iPod Touch is an amazing thing. It's extremely helpful to hear news from around the world, along with some good music stations thrown in. Just so you know, Radio includes 'Shoutcast' which is one of the largest directories of online, programmed radio stations. You can find the latest music here that's playing on your local radio station. More importantly, background play (background browsing of station web site) is now available along with social networking features like ability to upload to Twitter and Facebook, and checking the programming schedule on the radio station. Don't leave Radio to make your Twitter or Facebook status...you can do it all right from within the Radio app. Along with these goodies, you'll also find your fave iTunes and Icecast stations using MP3 format. You are given a lot of choices on how to select your stations, such as by directory, genre or your own preferred stream. Post your favorite links to Twitter and share your iTunes favorites links with your friends by e-mail. Formats supported on Radio include MP3 and AAC stream formats, along with PLS, M3U and XSPF playlists. One really useful feature of this app is the emergency streams such as NOAA Weather Radio and emergency scanner streams from Radio Reference. You will also enjoy 2,000 European stations, over 320 public radio stations, 100 Canadian stations and much more. Radio includes so many great stations, and provides very comprehensive coverage when you want it. It is very definitely worth its 99 cents!
