..UPDATED: 7/1/10, VERSION: 1.2 -- RATING: 4 Stars..
School has only just begun, and already I have heard six friends announce that they must get a tutor for their child in Math. This one core subject is the source of grief for so many students. Distressed parents seek any and all aid to help make make this school year go more smoothly and be less frightening for their children by many different means. Using Equations-Scientific Calculator is just one such method of tackling the downright scary nature of Math. Equations is an amazing calculator that provides you with over sixty functions that lets you solve in a flash difficult and mind-numbing algebraic, trigonometric and calculus problems. Some of the useful features of Equations-Scientific Calculator are as follows:
- Compatible app may be used with all models of iPhone, iPod touch and iPad.
- Equations is universal. Buy it once and use it on all your devices.
- Simple, intuitive interface makes Equations simple to use.
- Acts as a perfect complement for the lack of calculator app on your iPad.
- There are over sixty functions and twenty constants included.
- Uses many features of iPhone OS, including copy-and-paste and Core Animation.
- Detects if you have an iPhone 3GS or iPad to perform tasks as quickly as possible.
Open up Equations, and you will see a book icon in the top, right corner of your display. On tapping this, you will be given the option to choose from Functions or Constants. Not being a Math brainiac at all, I scrolled down the list of Functions, and decided to try out square root, sqrt(. Once you tap your choice of Function, it will be placed in a box with the numerical keyboard underneath. I then tapped 524) to finish naming the operation in order to get the square root of 524. Sure enough, my answer appeared as 22.8910463 on the screen. At that point, I was feeling pretty proud of myself and tried the cosine, cos( ,function. There was my answer again, in less than a second, neatly placed underneath my previous square root answer in a very helpful running-tape fashion. However, if you wish to erase previous data, simply tap the Edit button to delete each item.
The advantages to ditching your classic scientific calculator in favor of Equations are many. First of all, you will prefer using your device's standard keyboard rather than the small calculator buttons. Secondly, you will make good use of the native copy and paste feature to rapidly solve an expression, or even perform annoying and repetitious calculations. Additionally, you may very easily look through your calculations history. The workspace on Equations is simple and uncluttered. All workspace is dedicated to entering your chosen function and its answer. Let me add here that all my entered operations were performed correctly.
Equations is definitely a neat, powerful and handy tool to load on your device. No more hair-pulling is necessary for difficult assignments. Only a couple taps will obtain the answers you need in seconds. Moreover, if you can avoid the cost of an expensive calculator, why not do so, and use that cash on something else you really want! Let Equations be your math tutor, equation solver and "always correct" best friend whether or not you are a student!
