Childhood games make the best apps I've found. They're also a lot neater to clean up and maybe, sometimes, even easier to play! Best of all, these apps bring back fond memories of the past, and allow me to show my own family something of my childhood. iPlunk HD is the new, virtual Pick up Sticks game! As you know, the object of the game is to pull out each colored stick, one by one. In this case, the extra twist is that there are a stack of marbles sitting on top of that large pile of sticks. If you pull out a stick too quickly or pick from an incorrect area, the pile of marbles will come tumbling down!

Instructions for this game are fairly simple. Just touch the end of a stick to slide it out of the pile. Use two fingers to pinch the screen to rotate the room or zoom in and out. Use three fingers to pinch and tilt the room in any direction. If you slide one finger, you will be able to rotate the game in front of you. I have been having a barrel of laughs watching the marble stack wavering back and forth, but luckily I haven't brought it down yet! Play with 2 players and pass your device back and forth. The 3D simulation and touch interaction really brings this game to life. Looking at the setup from any direction is very helpful. Enjoy a good, old-fashioned,family game with this classic and well-loved version of Pick Up Sticks. iPlunk will have you wishing you had smaller fingers, yet appreciating the fun of yet another intuitive and challenging iPad game app.
