If you are in the process of planning a summer vacation, why not consider taking in one or several of our national parks? The amount of fresh air, beauty and wonder you and the children would enjoy would make it well worth your time. Have you yet visited Sequoia National Park? If not, perhaps consider doing so with the detailed and comprehensive Sequoia Tracks, Trees & Wildflowers app as your tour guide in exploring what nature has to offer. With it, you can make your way through Sequoia Park identifying tracks, scat and tell-tale signs of over 30 animals which inhabit the park. You will also learn to spot the native trees and several hundred beautiful wildflowers that bloom there. The organization of helpful information included in this detailed guide will open your eyes to the delights of the park. Measure items with a handy ruler, keep a journal, look at examples of trees, flowers, bark, tracks, scat and more. Here is a breakdown of the eye-opening features of the helpful and interactive Sequoia nature guide app:

- A searchable database of 7 illustrated categories based on track size and shape. Includes only animals found in the park.
- View illustrated as well as multiple digital images on each animals tracks front and hind, gait pattern, and sign they leave behind.
- Listen to each animal’s vocalization.
- View a full color image of each animal in the wild.
- Identify animal scat by using illustrated examples of 5 categories on scat size and shape.
- View multiple images of each animals scat in the wild for comparison.
- Life List, Tracking Tips, Plaster Casting.

- A 14 question illustrated search, answer one or more questions and hit submit to see which trees match the characteristics you selected.
- See full color digital images of each trees leaf/needle, fruit or cone, profile and bark.
- Find a complete description of identifying characteristics for each tree.
- Create your own personal Life List to record the trees you’ve identified.
- View all Species, Scientific Names and Their Meanings, Tree Facts.

- A 15 question illustrated search. Answer one or more questions and submit your choices to see which flower you found.
- Illustrated drawings of each and every flower in the app, vital for comparing leaf position, leaf shape and the overall appearance of the flower for identification.
- A beautiful full color image of each flower.
- Create your personal Life List to record your discoveries.
- Learn about Flower Morphology, and what pollination is all about.
- Use a built in ruler for measurements.

Open the app and choose from one of four buttons on the main menu: Tracks, Trees, Flowers and MyNature journal. When you tap Flowers, for example, you will then get a further breakdown into: Identify Flowers, View All Species, Life List and Other Info. If you tap Identify Flowers, you may search your newly discovered flower by answering a pre-made list of one or more of 15 questions. If you wish to see all the glorious flowers that may bloom in the park, simply tap View All Species and then the name of the flower to see an illustration, photo, excellent description, as well as scientific name. Additionally, you can use a Ruler from your top scroll bar to measure the items you choose.

Tap on Tracks or Trees from the main menu, and these items also will break down in a similar fashion with detailed sub-menus. I found the Other Info tab on Tracks, Trees and Flowers to be very useful with Directions, fun Tree Facts, Scientific Names for your findings, Tree or Flower Morphology (which explains growth pattern) and a great Glossary. One item of special mention is the sub-category All Animal Sounds listed under Animal Tracks. Kids and adults will enjoy training their ears to hear the special sounds of animals in nature. Sequoia Tracks, Trees & Wildflowers would be an ideal app for teachers to utilize in the classroom or on a nature walk. The hands-on information found here is infinitely easier to use than carrying a heavy text or guide book, and convenient because of its structured organization. The information found in Sequoia Tracks, Trees & Wildflowers because of its numerous, terrific break-downs, is ever so much handier and detailed than a mere listing in an encyclopedia.

COOL CONCLUSION: "Sequoia Tracks, Trees & Wildflowers teaches you all you ever wanted to learn about nature's bounty and is a treasure trove of information".
